Known as the Emerald Isle, due to its lush, green scenery, Ireland offers a breathtaking driving experience.

It can be a challenge for some, as the weather conditions can often be extremely changeable. The road network, although modern, has a huge network of narrow, winding lanes and drivers need to be aware of livestock which can often be found on the roads themselves!

| Motorways | Tolls have been introduced on some new motorways, for example the E1 (M1) route connecting Dublin and Belfast. The toll charge for cars is 1.50 euros. |
| Motorcycle Crash Helmet | Compulsory for rider and passenger |
| Seat Belts | Compulsory for all occupants if fitted |
| Children | Children under 12yrs cannot travel in front if not restrained accordingly. |
Ireland's main motoring organisation is the Automobile Association Ireland (AA Ireland). They offer a variety of insurance cover, breakdown assistance and other services to members.
